Foldio uses Google ML Kit Document Scanner to provide the camera scanning UI. ML Kit runs entirely on-device. The camera feed and scanned images are processed locally and are never sent to Google's servers. ML Kit's use of your camera is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
When you make a purchase, the transaction is handled by Google Play. Foldio communicates with Google Play's Billing SDK to verify that a purchase exists — this involves your Google account's purchase state, managed entirely by Google. Foldio never sees or stores your payment details. See Google's Payments Privacy Notice.
Foldio offers an optional Bring Your Own Cloud backup feature. If you choose to enable it in Settings, you connect your own Google account and documents upload directly from your device to your personal Google Drive using the drive.file OAuth 2.0 scope — the narrowest available, meaning Foldio can only see files it created, never anything else in your Drive.
Foldio's servers are never involved. The backup feature can be disconnected at any time from Settings, which immediately revokes access. If you never connect Google Drive, no network activity occurs.
All documents, scanned images, and app settings are stored in app-private internal storage (/data/data/com.nofrictionlabs.foldio/). This storage is:
Foldio does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. The app is a general-purpose document scanner intended for adults and is not directed at children. It contains no features, content, or advertising targeting minors.
Because Foldio collects no personal data from any user regardless of age, there is no special data handling required for younger users. No account is created, no information is transmitted off-device by default, and no usage is tracked.

If we ever change this policy in a material way, we will update the effective date above and note the change in the app's release notes. Given that Foldio collects no personal data, significant changes are unlikely.
